- ARENA-PAC Contributed to the Interactive Volumetric Live Performance Between Sydney and Tokyo at the SIGGRAPH Asia 2023January 24, 2024 ARENA-PAC, in cooperation with research and educational networks in the Asia Pacific, contributed to providing the SuperSpeed research and education connectivity for the interactive volumetric video-based live performance between Sydney and Tokyo on December 15, 2023. The volumetric video-based live performance was delivered to the audience at a 7,800km distance across the ocean over the communication network, co-creating improvisational music between the performer in Tokyo and the audience in Sydney. The performance required high-speed and stable transmission of information, which would have been difficult to achieve using ordinary circuits. - ARENA-PAC Contributed to Successful Telesurgery Trial between Japan and SingaporeOctober 16, 2023 ARENA-PAC, in cooperation with several research and educational networks, contributed to the successful telesurgery trial between Fujita Health University (FHU) and National University of Singapore (NUS) on October 9 to12 2023. This was Japan’s first telesurgery trial conducted between Singapore and Japan, distanced more than 5,000km. The telesurgery trial was made possible through research collaboration between FHU and NUS, Medicaroid Corporation, which developed the telesurgery robot, the WIDE Project with the Cyber Civilization Research Center (CCRC) at Keio University, which coordinates the research and education network.
