ARENA-PAC, in cooperation with research and educational networks in the Asia Pacific, contributed to providing the SuperSpeed research and education connectivity for the interactive volumetric video-based live performance between Sydney and Tokyo on December 15, 2023. The volumetric video-based live performance was delivered to the audience at a 7,800km distance across the ocean over the communication network, co-creating improvisational music between the performer in Tokyo and the audience in Sydney. The performance required high-speed and stable transmission of information, which would have been difficult to achieve using ordinary circuits. This performance was made possible through collaboration with Keio University Graduate School of Media Design (KMD), Canon Inc., Bascule Inc., and Mori Building Co., Ltd., WIDE Project with the Cyber Civilization Research Center (CCRC) at Keio University, which coordinates the research and education network.
