ARENA-PAC Signed a Peering Agreement with TEIN*CC to Enhance Resiliency of Research and Education Networks in the Region

Dr. Hirochika Asai (Panda) from WIDE Project and Dr. Jungsu Song from TEIN*CC signed the agreement during the opening ceremony at APAN60, Hong Kong.

On July 29, 2025, the Arterial Research and Educational Network in the Asia Pacific (ARENA-PAC), operated by the WIDE Project and TEIN*CC have signed a peering agreement to enhance a resilient, high-speed network services delivery system with the intent to elevate the services available for Research and Educational networks (R&E) across the Asia Pacific region.

Through this collaboration, both parties collaborate on promoting network design, redundancy, security, and operational best practices, coordinate regional peering and traffic exchange between RENs, also exchange information on matters affecting R&E networks.

About ARENA-PAC: Arterial Research and Educational Network in Asia-Pacific (ARENA-PAC) is a backbone network with the purpose of research and education and is made up of an international submarine cable network constructed to expand the Internet in the Asia-Pacific region, operated by WIDE Project, and represented by Prof. Jun Murai, Global Research Institute KEIO University.

About TEIN*CC: TEIN*CC is the implementing agency of the Asi@Connect project, coordinates and operates a high-capacity internet backbone network interconnecting the National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) of the Asia-Pacific region with each other and with Europe through GÉANT.
